Here's many of our group from 2002 at Athens' Wild Wing Cafe placing some friendly dollar bets on the Kentucky Derby.  (Notice our stylish, matching Classic City Pub Crawl shirts.)

This crawl is self-guided and allows participants to visit eight of the best pubs in Athens, GA for a free glass of beer at each stop.  It took place 4 PM to midnight on Saturday, May 4, 2002.  To be a part of the action, all you have to do is be 21 or over, arrange a ride home, and buy a pub crawl t-shirt for $25.  These shirts were on sale at the collectibles booth at our April Classic City Brew Fest. We'd like to express our thanks to all the pubs who are participating in 2003...

CCBC
The Bass and Guinness were tasting sweet at
Classic City Saloon on that faithful night.
Heavy rain came down all day and stopped just in
time for our Classic City Pub Crawl.
Joanne, Mark, Dean, and everyone else who traveled
together in our group enjoyed dinner and a rich,
chewy Bock beer at Athens' only
brewpub -- Copper Creek Brewing Company.
Owen (center) gave the camera up to mug for this photo
over a pint of Fullers ESB at the Globe.  The Globe
is an extremely pleasant bar at the corner of
Clayton and Lumpkin Streets in Athens.
Joanne, Martha, and Mark were happy that
although participating pubs were only asked
o donate half pints, most of the pubs thankfully gave
us full 16 oz. pints.  Wow!
What can you say about lovable Larry Johnson?!
Even the cute bartenders all want their picture taken with him.
Jeff and Martha
Here are Jeff and Martha pausing to enjoy their ale at the Globe.
Pasha, Larry, Thel
Pasha, Larry and Thel are quite pleased at the intense
flavor of Terrapin RyePA on draft at Wild Wing Cafe.
Terrapin is a new microbrewery that is starting
production in Athens, GA.
You can't go into the famous Georgia Bar
without raiding the free popcorn machine!
As always, Tiffany at Wild Wing was happy to p
our pints from their excellent draft beer selection.
Our last two stops of the night were the patio at
Athens Steam Company pub (above) and Molly O'Shea's.
Everyone had a marvelous time and all are looking
forward to next year's trek through the best pubs of Athens.
